One cold day after clamming with Jim at Moss Landing and both getting our limit of clams, both of us thought the other one had put the sack of clams in the trunk of the car. After we arrived home we realized we left the clams in the parking lot.....drove back out there, but to no avail, the clams had been scooped up by some lucky person....Lots of good memories with Jim
Jim was a real jokester. I especially remember the fun times we had in sociology class in high school when Jim and I would imitate the way our teacher, Mr. Pfeiffer (sic), would talk in a super slow drawl. Jim was able to imitate him to a perfection when saying, "S.I. Hayakawa." Jim was a good friend.
When I switched to Watsonville High School during the middle of my Junior Year, I told Mr. Staley that I had plenty of credits to go to College. I didn't want to take a full load and I wanted to to start during second period. Mr. Staley would have none of that and he made me take Mechanical Drawing first thing in the morning. I walked in and Jim was in the back with Raymond Armstrong who moved over so that I could sit in the middle-- everybody in the back. We had a lot of fun. We were 3 good friends having a good time together in the back of the room. Charlie
