I just learned from Marc's daughter that Marc passed away yesterday in Merced at a convalescent hospital. I will update when I get more information.
I will miss Mark. His youthful attitude extended into his latter years--- a gift when you think about it long enough. One of the reasons why we got along so well was because my mother told him that he was the smartest one in our Class. He'd come by to hear it again and again. His automobile photos were respected by his peers. He took many photos of Marshall Mathews' collection in Woodside. Marc and I both hit it off with Marshall but at different times. I don't know what happened to all of Marc's photos. Jim DePuy and Dick Depuy helped out Mark for a few years before many of our classmates became extensively involved. May he rest in peace.
Very sad… Rest In Peace Marc
Thank you, Bill, for the notification as well as your generosity toward Marc. You have a heart as big as all outdoors and you and Drew Johnston and Dave Plumer and Tim Hurd have a special place in heaven waiting for you. Much love.
Marc was a troubled soul even as early as high school. RIP, Marc

But he was our classmate and could be so much fun. That's what I dwell on.
Mark was one of my closest friends. We lived on the same block. His mother was a den mother at his house for us cub scouts. His father was a pilot for Bud Antle and took a bunch of us kids for our first airplane flight. I've known him since grammar school. I remember sitting around with the guys and someone would suggest we do something and if Mark didn't agree, he would say "Let's not and say we did." That was his saying! He was a great guy and I'm going to miss him.
John, thank you for your heart-warming memory of Marc. It's always a "gift" when we hear about the good memories. You must have been a wonderful friend to him. I think of him in high school and what fun we had. He and Dave Plumer had me in stitches in French class. Those are the things to hold onto.
