Ted Dearman

Ted passed away 12/08/2021 days n Santa Cruz We distributed his ashes on 2/19/2022 and had an awesome dinner (family gathering ) at The Dugout Restaurant

Hi Bill, nice of you to reach out. Sorry you had to find out that way. Everything was pretty low key. He suffered with Parkinson’s for several years. It was proven to be a direct result of the exposure to Agent Orange from his time in Vietnam. He was cremated and his ashes were scattered in the ocean. We chartered a boat and did it ourselves so not sure you want any of that mentioned… Then had a great dinner for family afterwards. Lots of great food and family stories… Not sure what you are looking for, how detailed you want to be…. After he retired from Granite Construction Co he and his wife Fran Kitt did some traveling(before his health progressed/deteriorated. Details: Children: Sandra Dearman Herbst Jeff Dearman Dustin Dearman Grandchildren: E.J. Herbst Tatiana Herbst Sofia Herbst I’m the only sibling Jeanette Dearman or probably Jan (Bogacz) I have 2 sons, both in Colorado Steve Bogacz Mark Bogacz He lived down here in Corona Del Mar for several years ( I loved it) then moved back up to Santa Cruz for the last year. Fran has 2 daughters Julie and 2 grandsons Jeffery and Joe several great grandchildren .

I didn't know Ted very well in high school, but it is always so sad to hear of the loss of one of our Wildcatz.  My heart goes out to his family and close friends.  I'm so sorry to hear he suffered from Parkinson's as a result of his time in Viet Nam.  God bless him for serving our country as did so many others from our class.  He was one of Watsonville's Heroes in my book.  I took some heat for honoring our veterans at our 50th reunion, but I'd do it again in a heartbeat.  We all hated that war but should honor those who served in any capacity.  They answered their country's call to service.  Ted, you will always be remembered as a brave and honorable man.
