Mas (Hashimoto) VIEW PROFILE

It is with sadness that I announce that our teacher and friend Mr. Mas Hashimoto left us today .
We had just announced 2 scholarships awarded to Watsonville high school graduates in honor of this wonderful man and educator.
I will post more information as it is received . Our hearts go out to the Hashimoto family. RIP Mr. Hashimoto !

Mas Hashimoto, Watsonville’s ‘icon’ of integrity, dies

WATSONVILLE—Mas Hashimoto, a devout defender of civil rights whose name became synonymous with his hometown after decades of service in education, community volunteerism and historic preservation, and whose unrelenting willingness to speak, write and teach about the plight of Japanese Americans during World War II made him a nationally-recognized public speaker and celebrated member of the Japanese American Citizens League (JACL), died Monday morning. He was 86.
