In Memory

Harold Aguilar

Harold Aguilar

Just received this very heart breaking text from Harold's sister: Dear Family,
Harold passed away at about 6:55pm tonight. I was able to FaceTime him just a couple hours earlier and say goodbye and tell him about all the prayers that have been said for him over the past two weeks.
Our dear Harold is in a beautiful place now and no longer suffering.
Love πŸ’—πŸ’•to all,
Rita

The Class of '65 has lost one of its best.  Harold was such a fun guy, in high school and then the last time I was with him at our 50th reunion.  He is no longer suffering but at peace.  You will be missed, Harold.

Harold was such a great guy and friend. You couldn't help but love the guy. I really enjoyed rekindling our friendship just before our 50th class reunion as Harold worked on the planning committee remotely.  He volunteered to be our photographer which he did with expertise and of course a great sense of humor. I bet he conversed with everyone in our class as he took your pictures and created memories for all of us. BTW He used his nickname "Hal" in Palm Springs.

Hal and I stayed in touch after the reunion and we met for lunch or at his reception desk at the Ingleside Inn several times over the past 5 years.  My wife Barb also became good friends with Harold and fell in love with this wonderful human being.  We both had a cry together last night when we learned of Hal's passing.  We really feel we just lost a great friend and human being and our world just won't be the same.

You will stay in our hearts forever and everytime we go to Palm Springs we will stop by the Ingleside Inn and have a glass of wine in your honor at Melyn's bar where we sat with you many times discussing growing up in Watsonville.

We love you Hal and we have peace knowing you are in Heaven and no longer suffering.

I first met Harold as a freshman in high school when he was a manager for athletic teams and also was a reporter for the school paper. We remained friendly throughout high school and worked together on reunions. He was just a “good” guy, and he was invaluable to us during the planning of our 50th reunion by tracking down classmates who had not previously attended reunions.   We are all so thankful for his photography of our 50th year reunion and his gift, sending to many of us disks with the photos. I enjoyed his comments on our web site and had fun when we visited him in Palm Springs a couple of times after the reunion. He arranged for Barb and me to sit at the owner’s table at Melvyn’s in the Ingleside Inn and sent complimentary Flaming Cherries Jubilee for dessert. He was a mover and shaker at the Inn.  He was an important part of our class and he will be missed. RIP Harold.

I had the pleasure of sitting behind Harold in all of our alphabetically arranged classes. At our 50th, I told him I couldn't confirm his identity until I saw the back of his head. It was good to get back in touch with him at the reunion. Harold always made good conversation and always had positive things to say. This is very sad news! Phil Anderson
